Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Temple, Trichy

Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Temple is located at Gunaseelam that is 20kms away from Tiruchirapalli. Situated on the banks of river Kollidam, this temple has been a place for devotees who need a definite cure mentally.

Sincere prayers offered here has been surely answered by the Almighty.

The name Gunaseelam is derived from “Guna” means the cure and Seelam means “Place”. It is said that Lord Vishnu comes down from his high position and answers his devotee’s prayers. Gunaseela maharishi, after visiting Venkatachalapathy of Tirupathi, wanted the Lord to be here too as he loved the beauty of the Lord. He did a penance until Lord Srinivasa appeared before him and promised to stay there till the end of Kaliyuga. Maharishi offered his prayers to the Lord on a daily basis and appointed a disciple to do the same after his days.

Then King Nyana Varma built a temple after many years.

There are six daily rituals that are taken care of in the temple between 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM.

Three major festivals are celebrated yearly and among those, Brahmotsavam is celebrated for 11 long days attracting people from all over.

Patients who are mentally ill are made to stay in the temple for 48 days and are cured definitely. Doctors visit them daily and sacred water is splashed on them every day. So, here the magic of cure happens when medicines are combined with the divine power of the Almighty.
